Guardsman review in District 1 Elkridge, Maryland: Not worth the money

Bought a bedroom set from a large furniture company in our area and they offered a protection plan for stains, scratches etc for the furniture. We purchased the plan because the furniture was for my brother who was moving into a group home for mentally & physically disabled and we were concerned that the furniture might get scratched or damaged there. Approximately 20 months after the purchase we filed a claim for a damaged foot board, we weren't sure of the exact date of the damage and the claim ended up being denied because the date that I put for when the damage occurred was more than 30 days past by 4 days. The customer service person said that our policy and denied the claim. What a waste of money.

lift chair. structural damage to the back. Called on the 6th day. Too late. One day late. WOW. Would not even consider helping us with the damage. Not like it was a ink stain. This is structural damage. All I need is for my mother to fall to the side, out of the chair. Also, that week, my mother, 87, was taken to ER. severe case of Shingles. I have the verification showing this. For about 3 days my mind was trying to keep her out of pain and comfortable. My mind was elsewhere and not on my reporting duties.

At this point, I am ready to file a class action lawsuit. I will organize an attorney and start this process if anyone is interested. I have got the runaround for months. I filled out the necessary claim paperwork. Nobody contacted me. I waited the several weeks....

I filed a claim with Guardsman for fabric burn, they advised they would send a technician then decided they could not fix it but call for resolution. I did and after 30 minute wait was given option to get credit of cost of sofa at the store.

Oh wait that store has closed so Mr. customer you lose out we will refund cost of the plan $70.00.

I cannot replace the sofa for $70.00. Why does customer lose when store closes?

bought a $500 leather recliner from ashleys furniture and bought the fully covered protection plan since I had a dog and a 1 year old.. got the elite coverage plan and so when my leather recliner started to peel and my 1 year old and nephew ripped up all the leather layering sense its not really leather I filed a claim and was denied sighting those damages aren't covered. how is this I called in and asked if I was sold a protection plan that covered anything with in 5 years? going to look into suing the company for this highway robbery tactic. how can the reason I got the coverage was because of my kids. When I look at the coverage it says rips are covered but not for my claim I guess....

This company wanted to make you jump through hoops to file a complaint but I refused. they want you to wait on papers, file papers and pics online etc. etc. They gave me options to resolve my claim. I told them the store here in Ohio closed down. They said that was fine my furniture would be delivered from the warehouse. Then they called back to take the options back because the store here is closed. Then they wanted me to drive from Ohio to Indiana to pick up a new sectional, all at my expence, (gas, truck rental and my time etc.) I am am uphappy customer and I will tell everyone i can don't do business with them. They are suppose to mail me a settlment check to have my furniture cleaned. I have called around and the amount is not even enough. the story is longer but my time is short. Guardsman, Good technitions poor customer service. GM over charged me for the job, still trying to get my money back. 10 phone calls and promises all will be fixed ,2 months Now! so i bought a new recliner a year ago . they talked me in to the warranty .they said anything happens to the chair or it stains they will fix or replace. so it got stained. i called to find out not only that they are not going to fix it it or replace it that i purchased it and they put it under kris's name. my name on credit card i paid with my card and i purchased it. and they placed it under her name. they didnt give me anything just receipt shows i purchased warranty. call warranty company {Guardsman} they said i had to call them when it happened. really because we didnt know anything like this Nebraska furniture didnt tell us or give us anything with warranty papers. and didnt get it from Guardsman. this is a scam. Nebraska furniture mart. says they are suppose to send you the stuff after purchase for warranty. they warranty company says you should have known this. how many other people are they *** over like this.
