When I purchased a sectional from Bobs furniture store I purchased the warranty as well! One year into my warranty my sectional started to loose it shape meaning pillow became saggy and the frame became week! At the time it was only me and my 4/5 year old son who occupied the apartment. I called guardsman over 20 times with my same issue. They sent someone out to take pictures and no one came out after that! I called tell me to to email and or fax the claims paper. I did it on numerous occasions and they said they have yet to receive my claim paper. By the time I heard something back from Guardsman they tells me my warranty is up! Never will I trust them again in fact I'm report them to Better Business Bureau

First of all I called an answering service who took my information and related it to Guardsman without doing a physical assessment or requesting a photo to determine what kind of damage occurred. guardsman mailed me to indicate that the type of damage is not covered. it's easy to take our money which is a summ of $200.00 and not even try to review the request. I feel with all the technology that's available this company should take the time to call the customer and try to resolve the issue..instead I received an email that cannot reply to (block) so I can make my case and feel that their is an alternative resolution. Buyer beware.!

GUARD YOURSELF FROM GUARDSMAN

I purchased a recliner and the reclining mechanism broke. I filed a service request form and also mailed my complaint via mail as instructed. Well the mail never made it to Guardsman and my 10 day time frame was exceeded. I wasn't allowed to reopen a claim or go any further with this reapir. They were rude and unprofessional. How did I know the mail was lost? They simply kept reciting their *** contract and their memorized lines to another disatisfied costumer. I had a claim on a leather piece of furniture with them a few years ago and the minute they saw my small dog they didn't honor that claim either. PURE BS...

Guardsman review in New York, New York: Purchased plan and when I submitted claim, request not honored.

I had purchased the guardsman furniture protection when I bought the sofa in 2009 from Jennifer Convertibles. I discovered (2 Weeks ago)that there was a stain on one of the seat cushions, not having created the stain I asked my family if they new anything about the stain, all said no. Knowing I had this plan I went online and submitted a request. I took pictures as instructed, did not try to clean the stain, (which was clearly stated I would void the contract) and reported honestly that I did not know what the stain was because I had not created it. When a representative called I explained the above and she said someone would get back to me. Almost ten days later, Jay from Guardsman reported that they will not cover the stain because I did not know exactly what caused it. My husband spoke with our children and when he called Guardsman back with the information as to the cause of the stain, he was told they still would not cover it because I had said I did not know what caused it. My husband said he would file a new claim and he was told they will deny it. The message that I received from Guardsman employees, is that you should just make up something. Honesty is denied but lying is acceptable! I will never purchase another contract again nor will I ever recommend Guardsman. Buyers beware!!!!!!

Guardsman not worth the money

We bought furniture at Bob's and got the 5 year warranty to cover ourselves in case of a problem. When we had problems with the furniture we had to go through the lengthy process of contacting Guardsman (several states away), then filling out paperwork, waiting for a mailed response, responding back with more information (and only getting approval for the repair of one of two problems), waiting for the "local" affiliate to contact us, then setting up an appointment. I live in a populated area and the closest affiliate if 50 miles away. They only come this way on Mondays and regardless of the fact that it is a bad day for us, they refuse to adjust. So bottom line is that almost 3 months later (had I set up the first available appointment it would have been two months to fix 1/2 the problems), I have fixed the furniture as best I can and when it goes again, I will be buying a new piece without a warranty.

Guardsman: Stay Away!!

I have Guardsman on all newly purchased furniture and opened a claim within the required 5 days. We were told a service tech would call us back. Well, the tech never called. We called back to find out what had happened and was told that this 'tech' tried calling us and that a post card was sent which also was never received. Strange considering we received all the documents for the claim in the mail when we first submitted the issue! We were then informed that the claim would NOT be honored since 'too much time' lapsed (oh, and the guarantee is still very much in effect). STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I followed the rules and filed a complaint when a candlestick fell and took a chunk out my almost black entertainment center. The technician tried to avoid me and was difficult to schedule with.

A few days the repair, the finish turned WHITE! I was leaving the country for a few weeks so I called about the unsatisfactory repair when I returned. Gaurdsman is claiming that because I waited more than 5 days to report it, thats it's new damage and not covered because I took so long to call. I say if it's new damage, the technician must have caused it.

Contacting their legal department today.

I must agree, this plan is definitely all about deny and frustrate...maybe the consumer will give up...well not this consumer. What a waste of money.

What is the point of this warranty? It's complete bull! I can't believe becks would even sell this at there store. It's just going to *** people off!

I know this is suppose to be a site to complain but I looked at this site before i called guardsman about my couch and was nervous that they would have horrible service and be unhelpful...as it turns out they were so nice to me it was wierd. The guy came to clean my couch but said the stains were 2 larget 2 get out and so they gave me a credit for the amount of the couch! The only negative i can say is that the wait time was kinda long 2 spk to guardsmen. But i feel like ppl will always have bad experiences but some may have good ones...:)

Guardsman review in New York, New York: The worst company ever - do not use!

I bought their "protection" plan which cost me $250 and they promised that they could get absolutely anything out. When I needed the service, it took them 5 WEEKS for them to to send someone out. They did a *** job and refused to send someone out again even though they let the stain set in. I had to call them 8 times and got put on hold at least 20 minutes each time just to speak with rude customer service reps. save your money and go to another service! I'm going to file with the better business bureau as well. it was THAT bad.

Guardsman is a scam

I recently purchased a sofa bed and ottoman from Jennifer Convertibles in NYC. At the sales associate's strong endorsement and recommendation, I also purchased the Guardsman Fabric Plus protection plan. The $79.99 plan is supposed to guarantee full stain service or replacement for my microfiber sofa bed and ottoman if I call their number within 5 days. I attempted to call the number they provided (also the number listed on all their marketing collateral given to me by the JC sales associate and the number listed on the website- 1.800.253.3957) but a nice man told me that this number had been wrong for more than 20 years and despite him receiving several wrong calls each day, Guardsman has never updated their brochures or site. This made me very suspicious and concerned. What kind of company allows the only customer service contact number to be incorrect for years? The website only allows for an online inquiry to which they generated me an automated response with a pdf attachment. They told me to mail in the form and they would respond in about 10 business days. However, they also said in that email and everywhere else that fluid stain claims must be filed within 5 days in order to be guaranteed service. What a scam! Obviously, I am very disappointed by this scam and shocked that such a company is still in business. A simple Google search on Guardsman revealed nothing but complaints of outrageous lack of service; they have a horrendous record on the BBB as well. It is unfortunate that Jennifer Convertibles endorses a company that has been scamming consumers for years; and, therefore I would not recommend shopping at this store. If you must, do NOT let the sales staff convince you to purchase the Guardsman "guarantee."

Definitely a scam. Whatever you say, they tell you the opposite just so they don't have to clean the furniture.

As a matter of fact, they sent me a bottle and a chemicals so I could clean it up myself. They never had any intention of sending anyone out. Then the along with the forms they send out , there is a disclaimer saying that they don't cover: food stains, baby stains, blood, bodily fluids, oil etc.

etc. I mean, what other kind of stain is left?

what ever you do Do Not purchase this plan. They send out technicians, who dont know what their doing or pretend they dont have a clue.

I had to complain and complain for Havertys to look at what Guardsman was saying was normal. They agreed with me and I got a different type of sofa.

then I had a mattress pad protection plan, I had to mail, not email like they can the forms in. How convienent for them.

They called me up about two weeks later, told me my converstions is being recorded, for their protection of course. They denied my mattress pad replacement, because I said it was fraying. They said it was only convered if it was stained. Keep your money, you could fix it down the road yourself.

I could have bought 4 mattress pads, for what I paid for this plan.

I would love to get a class action law suit against this company. They need to be held accountable, for once.
