Was told they do not cover lrevous repairs they made padt thirty days. Was also denied because a year in my couch "looked" like it had been there for a while. Also because another "LOOKED" like frayimg which they say isnt covered even tbough it wasnt frayi g and was cUswd by an action that is supposed to be covered. I laod for a fice year protection plan and got one reoair out of it. What a waste of money.

Horrible experience. Claim for damaged sofa & love seat were both improperly denied. I contacted Guardsman regarding the claim denial and spoke with Walt. After reviewing my claim and the details surrounding the loss he informed me that he was able to overturn the decision surrounding the sofa but not the love seat because the staple is a manufacturer issue not covered by my protection plan. I explained that the staple was exposed as a result of the corner tearing. Walt then referred me to my policy and went over the definitions of WHAT IS COVERED AND WHAT IS NOT COVERED. My protection plan states the following under WHAT IS COVERED: Fabric, Leather and Vinyl Upholstered Furniture: 5. Any puncture, cut tear, and rip from a specific incident. I also reviewed the WHAT IS NOT COVERED section and I could not find an exclusion for the tear/damage caused to the love seat which exposed the staple. Walt was rude and informed me that he’s already done me the favor of overturning the sofa and disconnected the phone call. I called back, waited another 10-15 minutes for a representative to become available and Walt answered. I informed him that I was not pleased with the handling of the call and I requested to speak with a supervisor. I was immediately transferred to a voice answering service and left a message requesting a returned call. The voicemail recording states a call would be returned within 48 hours. I contacted Guardsman again as I had not received a returned call. I was assisted by a female representative. She reviewed the claim and informed me again that the sofa claim has been overturned but the love seat would not be covered because I could not identify what specifically caused the tear. I informed her that it occurred during the process of the furniture being moved for carpet cleaning. She stated the claim would not be overturned. I requested to speak with a supervisor and informed her that my call had not been returned from the previous week. She recommended that I leave another message and transferred me to the escalated call answering system. I left another message requesting a call from management for further assistance. I received a call from Angie (ext 2771). She advised me that she could not overturn the claim for the loveseat and the claim for the sofa was honored out of courtesy. I informed her that the protection plan states any tear from a specific incident is covered and my claim was improperly denied to begin with. She explained the claim for the love seat would have been covered had I specified that the tear exposed the staple. The protection plan does not cover staples and/or manufacturer defects. I referred her to the images/photos I submitted to Guardsman of the damaged love seat and explained that the tear is visible. It starts from the bottom corner and goes upward about 1 or 2 inches. The protruding staple lost its shape as a result of it being pulled outward, this is supportive of the love seat being caught on something which caused the tear, which exposed the staple. She informed me that no changes will be made to their current decision. I inquired about the appeal process and was advised they do not have one.

Terrible customer service and company. They denied a claim, telling me that what I told them happened was not true. Even though it is true. They argued over the phone and they weren't willing to assist me. My furniture was in my new home when it was damaged. It was damaged when I was moving my new stuff in and around the new home. They tell me that it was damaged outside, while moving it. Ridiculous, my furniture was covered and cushioned in the truck. It was damaged in my new home, not outside it.

We purchased the 5 year plan when we bought our sofa and love seat. After two years, we had damage on one cushion. Its very clear it is only on one cushion so it is not wear and tear. They refused to cover it because I did not word my claim correctly. I am beyond angry right now. $200 for absolutely nothing. Horrible! I called back to speak to a supervisor who was of no help. I said if this plan does not cover what it said it did, I wanted to cancel it and get a refund. I was told that also would not happen. I don't know the last time I had such a terrible customer service experience.

just don't buy it not worth it.. They don't deliver on their plans. False advertisement. They say they cover certain things. When you actually buy and receive the fine line paperwork of what they actually cover, It negates almost everything they advertise. Its a complete sham. When the store tells you that is great to buy if you have kids or pets, don't get fooled. Their protection plan brochure says it protects accidental damages, burn, punctures, tear from a single incident and stains. However, after you buy the plan and receive the full discloses contract in the mail weeks later. They have a back out clause which they can use at their will for any claims to not deliver on your claim proof or no proof.

guardsman furniture protection plan....They are a Horrible company. ....dont buy their *** insurance..just terrible insurance. ...I will tell everybody that your service is terrible at best....I will post it in blogs so its permanent. I hope you go out of business with your terrible customer service.....they turn down all claims that you submit...please dont waste your hard earned moneyI bought at bobs furniture for my livong room sectional and kitchen table and bedroom sets and the coverage looks great on paper but guatdsman has a rinky *** claim process that they painfully put you through for nothing!

Guardsman are thieves!

I had a similar experience with Guardsman. I purchased the 5 year plan that's supposed to cover everything from stains to tears. NOT! My sofa had a tear, close to five inches at the seam. I called to report the incidenr & the customer service rep told me to fill out the form online & someone would come to my house to fix it. Two weeks passed; i heard nothing. I called & They told me that they wouldn't cover it because it was a "manufacturing" issue. The customer service rep, this time, wasn't friendly at all! I was, and still am, pissed! Never again!
