Guardsman review in Tampa, Florida: Denied claim despite it was covered by contract

You must contact the Attorney General of Florida. I was at least offered my $149.99 back and now there's a record of this fraud! When Guardsman refused to cover the accidental rips in my couch, I started searching online what I could do and was shocked to see so many other customers being cheated as I was. We got nowhere with the company despite repeated complaints, and the worst of all was the Better Business Bureau (who had over 200 complaints against this company in the last year alone and yet still managed to keep them at an A rating, and they "closed" my complaint after Guardsman simply responded "the claim isn't covered". I complained with Angie's List too, and when Guardsman stated they had already responded via the BBB, Angie's List closed it too! I thought about small claims court, and found out all I'd be entitled to is my $149.99 if I win. The only ray of hope here has been the Florida Attorney General's office (Pam Bondi). They actually responded to my complaint, and followed up with me through the following agency: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Consumer Services 2005 Apalachee Parkway Tallahassee, Florida 32399 Telephone: (850) 410-3800 Toll-free within FL: (800) 435-7352 Website: http://www.800helpfla.com/

Guardsman review in Tampa, Florida: Bought an expensive leather sectional which lost its color pigment

I bought my second leather sectional from LaZBoy and for the second time got the Guardsman protection. The day after Thanksgiving I noticed several spots on a section where all the color had faded and the spots were white. I filed a claim with Guardsman and was denied coverage. LaZBoy also will not cover it. I will not consider either of these companies in the future. The cost of these leather sectionals is high and with no willingness on either companies part to own up to repairing the defect, there are plenty of other places to shop. Think seriously before you spend this kind of money and think you've covered yourself with a Guardsman plan.

Guardsman Denies another Claim

The "friendly" folks at Guardsman have one goal, deny as many claims as possible. I purchased two power reclining loveseats from Ashley Furniture in Lakeland, Fl along with a 5 year protection plan. I was sold a bill of goods regarding the insurance.I was told that no matter what happened, it was covered. I was not told about the 5 day rule. Since I reported it in 6 days, DENIED! I asked to speak to a supervisor, same result. Worst company/customer service I have ever dealt with in my 67 years! I will never buy another. I also will not buy anything from Ashley Furniture again.

Guardsman is useless

Never buy the Guardsman Protection plan for furniture. After filing a claim, (which includes explaining the damage to a rep, filling out an online form, taking multiple pics, and then sending it in the mail) I was told I was denied because of accidental damages. I never received a brochure in the mail describing all of the exclusions, but instead got a 1 page description of the plan with my receipt. I was also told by the rep that I should have known what was covered before I called. (Thats alot of nerve)The reps should've known what my plan was when i initially called and might as well have just told me its a waste of time. From now on, I know Im better off spraying scotchguard on my furniture and getting it steam cleaned once a year. People spend good money on these "insurance" plans just to be denied . Thanks corporate world!

I just had a claim denied by them too. Waste of money.

For $100, I could have just paid for an upholstery cleaner to get the stain out.

They are worthless.

we are buying new furniture and if we are.offered that useless plan, I will give the salesperson an earful about what I think about that p.o.s. company.

Guardsman Protection Plan

Guardsman review in Tampa, Florida: Terrible protection plan

I have a reclining sofa that I bought from Ashley Furniture. They sold me the Guardsman Protection 5 yr Plan. There is a hard plastic 'foot' at the corners of the sofa that is secured by a screw. The hard plastic 'foot' broke and the screw gauged my hardwood floors. I called Guardsman several times trying to get this fixed. I am requesting the plastic piece that broke to be replaced, not my floors! Guardsman is saying that it is NOT covered because it is a manufacturer's defect. I bough the protection plan to cover me for 5 years! I hope Ashley Furniture and other stores realize this scam of a company, and refuse to offer their services.
