No one should ever shop at Haverty's and here are reasons why. 1: Furniture markup--- Haverty's furniture is so tremendously marked up far more than any other furniture store.Take a piece that costs $1299.00 in the store, Haverty's cost only $299.00.

A piece selling for $2,099.00, Haverty's cost is $599.00. 2: Quality of product--- Haverty's products are not the best by comparison. I have seen so many returns because of the units falling apart or just being delivered damaged and most of the furniture has been repaired at their warehouse. Ask yourself if your investment is worth buying previously returned and repaired furniture?

3: Delivery cost--- Haverty's has raised their delivery charges from $49. to $79.99 - $799.99. If anyone pays this, then shame on you. How do I know these things?

I am a former employee. So, before you buy anything at Havertys and regret ever walking in their store; find out what it costs Haverty's to buy that made in China crap and check other furniture stores where you can buy quality for a lot less. Havertys once built their reputation on quality products but now focus mainly on profits to appease their investors. 4: They do not value their experienced employees and have a very high turnover due to delivery failures, cancellations and sales staff that work only on commission pay.Havertys does not value their customers and are last on their list.

When customers are unhappy, they’re constantly comparing products, the money spent and the value, quality of their purchase to the level of customer service provided to that of the competition. 5.The Guardsman Protection Plan Havertys sells is a 3rd party service they make $$$$ on. The Guardsman website is far from being customer friendly.

The dedicated Havertys customer service reps are the rudest and the company is questionable. DON'T waste your hard earned money on this company with their $$$$ scam protection plan they insist you need.

I bought my furniture less than 2 years ago from Ashley, bought the 5 year warranty from Guardsman for 150.00. I noticed the overstuff recliners back was moving 6 to 8 inches (meaning frame broke). I submitted a claim and was told by Guardsman they would not fix my chair due to I didnt submit my claim within 5 days (it was 10). They would do NOTHING to help me out with the claim or chair. I called Ashley Furniture where I was told, "that is why we do not deal with Guardsman anymore, they always find loop holes as a way to not have to honor warranties". I paid a ton to get an insurance which I purchased at the time of buying the furniture and when something was wrong with the furniture and i called the company they made me fill out and take pictures of the furniture and I did all that and then at the end I hear from them telling me that nothing is covered so basically I have to deal with this furniture because whatever that was wrong it was not covered. I usually do not get insurance for this same reason and this one I thought since I purchased the furniture from Ashley's maybe it will be good but I was totally wrong, it sucks and I would beg people to never get this otherwise you will be wasting your money for no reason.

Guardsman review in Largo, Florida: GUARDMAN A SCAM

This company is a total scam. They do everything they can to deny your claim. First try and remember to submit it in 5 days and fill out impossible paperwork and then mail it on top of that. Do not waste your money on buying a guardsman plan. So I never noticed the 5 days part which is inside the brochure hidden behind the receipt at the bottom and was honest enough to say that the mechanism in the recliner had stopped working three weeks before. Spoke to every level of supervision and they are just there to say NO, your contract (that by the way I never got and didn't sign) states 5 days.

Guardsman review in Port Richey, Florida: Will not honor their warranty.

I called Guardsman to repair a love seat I had bought at Ashley Furniture 8 months ago. Ashley referred me to Guardsman and after explaining my problem the told me I waited more than 5 days to report the defect. Well I guess I should have told them I was emotionally drained because I just got back from a funeral in NY of my 5 year old niece who died from a brainstem tumor. Why the *** did I spend my hard earned money for a 5 year warranty for rips and tears if I knew they would not honor their contract. As far as I am concerned stay away from Guardian they are crooks and Ashley does not keep the promises they give you in the showroom.
