Guardsman review in Phoenix, Arizona: Denied coverage , when it was clearly covered

$6500 table i bought at mor furniture, also purchaed the 5 year guardsman protection plan, table started flakingand peeling, contacted them , they sent out a tech who told us the it should not be doing that , but they denied to do anything. mor furniture wont do anything, i contacted a well know furiture company , for a second opinon , they gave me a written letter saying that the table was defected, and should not have done that, sent letter and emailed to both guardsman and mor furniture, and i think it resonable for it to be fixed , sad when company dont care and dont stand behind there product

I think its hilarious that you think Guardsman makes furniture. What you bought from Guardsman is a SERVICE AGREEMEENT, not an extended warranty from the manufacture. Read your plan and understand what you purchased before you start complaining about a company that has nothing to do with your table being defective.

Guardsman RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purchased Guardsman at Thomasville Furniture, I was told by the sales woman that it would cover all my tables and my leather furniture, no matter what it was or how it was damaged. Be it human stains, animal damage as in scratches from dogs or cats... it was suppose to cover EVERYTHING, that's what I was told. When I put in a service request, followed their rules to the letter... I was denied. I was told that they don't cover animal damage or any kind of damage on my furniture. Not one thing was covered under their protection plan. WTF!

Guardsman- Never Purchasing Again!

I am extremely disappointed in Guardsman's customer service. I filed a claim regarding a couch that was ripped and the cushion ruined. I spoke to a representative who stated Guardsman would replace the fabric, but did not cover cushions. The representative stated we could purchase the cushion from the repair technician and the fabric would be covered under warranty. A technician came to our home and stated collected all information to file the claim. He stated he would order all necessary parts and we should expect a call within a few days to set up a follow-up appointment where he would come out to complete the repair. We received no follow-up call and after 2 weeks we called Guardsman to get more information. At that time we were informed the repair would not be completed due to the cushion not being covered under the protection plan. We attempted to explain that we were aware of that and that we were willing to pay for the cushion. The representative was disrespectful and argumentative on the telephone call. We then asked if we could get the contact information for the service company that came to our home so we could pay for the repairs ourselves. The representative stated she was unwilling to give us the information and there was nothing that could be done to help. I am extremely upset about the mixed messages being sent. First we were told it would be fixed, by the Guardsman representative and the technician who came to our home, then we were told it would not be fixed. I will never purchase a Guardsman plan again and I will discourage others from purchasing their service plans as well. For a company who prides themselves on good customer service, they should be ashamed.

We purchased the Guardsman Gold Protection plan on all our furniture. Twice in 10 years I've filed a claim.

The first claim was denied because "I mailed it more than 5 days after the damage occurred". The second time they stated the tear in my 1 year old leather sectional cushion "Is not covered under the warranty".

They have over 350 complaints with the BBB in 2012 alone! I'm starting a campaign to stop their fraudulent practices!

Guardsman Sleazebags weasle out of service

Bought Lazy Boy sectional with Guardsman plan. Only received receipt for Furniture along with Guardsman Service Plan Info. Finally needed to use it and called up and gave all info, then filled out multiple forms and sent it in. Now, 2 months later received a call saying if it doesn't have Guardsman on the receipt, I'm out of luck. I argued about the plan and serial numbers I was given and like the weasles they are, claim that I could be using a plan from another piece of furniture on these. Please don't do business with them! They are dishonorable crooks! I noticed someone else on this site had a similar experience with them.
