Guardsman review in Saint Petersburg, Florida: Mattress

Never will I rely on the protection plan with Guardsman. We had a 10 yr. warranty plan on our temper-petic mattress. After two years we had a pet stain which the warranty covers. When I contacted Guardsman they claimed we waited to late to report the stain. The claim was reported just 30 days after the fact and they denied service. We did not notice the stain until we changed the special mattress pad that is designed just for the temper-petic mattress. Consumers need to be aware that the warranty plan sounds too good to be true. And, it is. Here is another company that cannot be trusted.

I am waiting 2 months to replace broken hinge in my desk. Technician finally arrived to my house just to find out he got wrong hinge. After w few days he called me and said he is unable to find right hinge. It needs to be purchase by Guardsman from manufacturer. Another week nothing happened. Today I called Guardsman to check status. Obviously they haven't ordered hinge yet. What a joke. They said they will order today. It may take another 2 months to receive hinge. So all together it takes 4 MONTHS to replace broken hinge. It is insane.

Guardsman has poor to zero customer service. Unconcern employees. Nebraska Furniture mart did not explain the Guardsman protection plan the way Guardsman explains what is covered. If poor craftsmanship is not covered under the wareanty i would have never purchased it. Gaurdsman puts time constraints on you and then takes their sweet tine getting back to you. Worthless warranty.

Details
I called this morning to report damage to a couch from a pet stain that needs to be cleaned. There is no urgency in assisting to complete service. There is a multiple step process to get claims through the system that are frustrating and timely. As of 9/21/15, they are just now serving customers that reported claims on 9/4/15. So by the time, they come to clean my cushion, it will need to be replaced. The service department gives canned answers and there is no care in their voice, only monotone answers that they are obviously reading from a script.

Guardsman review in Apopka, Florida: Poor Warranty Company - Inefficient Processing of Claims

This company makes it extremely difficult to report and act on a claim. First, you have to complete their online form and attach pictures of the damage. Their specifications for the pictures make it close to impossible to submit without multiple cropping, editing, etc. once you spend the time to submit the pictures, you then have to print their form and mail it in (even though you already answered all of the questions online). The form has to reach Guardsman within 10 days of you filing the online form. Don't bother calling to see if the form was received because Guardsman will say that they can only confirm once the form reaches their processing department. Once it reaches processing, it takes another 10-15 days for them to decide whether the claim is covered. After that, they call to schedule a repair. So, be prepared to wait 6 weeks or more to get someone out to fix your furniture. Guardsman, you should be ashamed of your business model with regards to processing claims. Your company needs an overhaul on this and should really try to think about putting the customer first. It's simple, customer has problem, customer calls, you send out a person to fix it.

Guardsman review in Salinas, California: Cant get somebody to clean my furniture

My grandson had an accident on my couch, he urinated on it, it has been over a month and now they want pictures because i am claiming that all of the furniture is stained. We have done everything they asked, I refuse to send pictures. I just got off the phone for the second time, got hung up on the first because I cussed at Mark. I now have a call into the corporate office. Bet it takes three weeks to get back to me. We are at the end of our 5 year plan and have made one claim, five years ago.

Gaurdsman is a huge waste of money. I am always hesitant about purchasing in store insurance but after checking all the coverage options i thought this company might be different. ..I WAS WRONG!! My 3yr old got a hold of a fork on our brand new wood table and scratched it, i called guardsman and they sent someone out to fix the table, he said it was too deep so he wouldnt fix it!! Then i got a letter back from guardsman saying that the damge isnt covered under the policy!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! !!!##

I put some lotion on my neck, it got on the leather lazy boy chair. A whole developed but since lotion also caused cracking and peeling the chair was not covered. The Warranty states "Any puncture, cut tear and rip from a specific incident." IS COVERED. What a rip off. My claim number is 11323709, service agreement is 17576378. This is on a lazy boy recliner and it was a 5 year $1000.00 Elite Protection Plan. I argued with guardsman and it seems the cracking took p residence over the tear. etc.etc,etc. why 100 words? the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy grey dog.

Details
Do Not Purchase "Guardsman" furniture extended warranty from any furniture store. It is not worth the paper it is written on. I purchased $4000 worth of furniture from Ashley Furniture of Yorba Linda, California. The Salesperson gave me a hard sell on purchasing an extended warranty from Guardsman and I did purchase this 5 year warranty for a leather recliner, a cloth swivel rocker recliner, a leather couch and matching leather chair. This gave me peace of mind believing that my furniture was well protected from damage. I had the cloth swivel rocker recliner delivered to my Father's assisted living facility for his use. 18 months later I discovered that the chair was listing to the left. I asked my Father if he realized that the chair was leaning to the left and he told me that he noticed approximately 2 months prior but did not tell me because he did not want worry me about the chair. I immediately contacted Guardsman and they emailed me the Guardsman Service Request form. I jumped through all the hoops necessary to complete this form. I mailed the information at the USPS certified return receipt 2 days after receiving the form. Two weeks later I received an "ineligible for service" email notification due to the failure to report the damage with in the 5 day reporting period. I took the warranty contract and read through the entire small print to find out that there was a 5 day reporting limit. What???? I have a 5 year warranty on expensive furniture and I lose it on a 5 day reporting period. What is the purpose of this 5 day reporting period other than to deny customers from being able to use it. I am angry at my self for buying this protection plan and buying this furniture from Ashley Furniture. Ok Guardsman---you got me. Ashley---due to your $700 cloth swivel rocker recliner that wore out in only 18 months---shame on you. I will payoff my account and never use your company again.

Logged a claim in April, for replacement arm on a new sofa, countless phonecalls and emails, too many broken promises, still not replaced, they keep blaming the manufacturer for the delay. this insurance policy was misleading, stay away from guardsman!
